Bambusa textilis Gracilis
Slender Weavers Bamboo
Description
A fast growing, tall, straight, clumping bamboo with graceful leaves and green/blue hued culms. Excellent choice for privacy screens in narrow spaces as it can be grown in beds only 40cm wide (or troughs) but does best planted in beds 1m across to facilitate its natural base size. Also looks great as a feature specimen in sub tropical/tropical gardens and blends in well with native rainforest plants. Can be kept as a luscious blanket of foliage or have the lower branches pruned to expose the culms. Tolerates rigorous pruning of tops to maintain a selected height. Both hardy and drought resistant once established and tolerates sandy soils, winds and light frosts.
