Liriope muscari 'Royal Purple'
Royal Purple, Lily Turf
Description
A clumping, evergreen perennial plant with glossy green, strappy foliage and impressive flowers. One of the best flowering Liriopes, the small, deep purple, bell-like blooms are produced on large, erect flower spikes from early Summer to Autumn. These are followed by purple berries. It prefers a well drained soil but will tolerate most soil types, and also thrives in both full sun to heavily shaded positions. It has good cold tolerance. Often selected for mass planting as a groundcover beneath trees and palms, it is also suitable for rockeries and borders and does well in containers. Trim older foliage as required.
