Myoporum parvifolium 'Yareena'
Yareena Myoporum
Description
'Yareena' is an improved and longer lived form of Myoporum parvifolium. A very hardy prostrate groundcover, its woody stems permit it to survive longer compared to the common form. It has clean, green foliage and lovely, small, star-like white flowers during Summer. It grows in full sun to part shade, in a variety of soils and climates, from coastal sites and sandy soils to inland areas with heavy clay soils. Will withstand both frost and drought but requires good drainage. Excellent choice as a groundcover in Seaside and Native gardens as well as in rockeries. Good for spilling over walls and for weed suppression. Water as required in the first 8-13 weeks to establish. Prune once every 2 years to keep tidy and if needed, fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in Spring.
