Trachelospermum 'Tricolor'
Tricolor Star jasmine
Description
An attractive, slow growing, mounding plant with variegated cream and green foliage, overlaid with year round new tip growth that is pink and cream. This is a cultivar of Trachelospermum jasminoides with insignificant flowers. Grows in full sun to semi shade in organic enriched, well-drained soils. Once established will tolerate dry conditions but it is advisable to maintain soil moisture during Summer months. Can be found in a wide temperature range from tropical to cool temperate and will tolerate light frost. The coloured foliage is a lovely feature of this plant and it works well as a contrasting groundcover, low border, spillover plant or container specimen. Prune to shape as required but 'Tricolor' is not as a rampant a grower as the climbing forms. Apply a slow release fertiliser in Spring.
