Waterhousea floribunda 'Sweeper' PBR

'Sweeper' Waterhousea

Description

An improved form of Waterhousea floribunda, 'Sweeper' has a more heavily weeping and much denser habit, with impressive lush new growth and rippled edges on the leaves. Large clusters of fluffy white flowers are produced in Summer. Grows in full sun to part shade and tolerates cold and drought but dislikes the heat and dryness of exposed inland areas. Suits well drained, to heavy clay loams. Water as required to establish, and ensure occasional water during dry periods. 'Sweeper' is an inspired choice when needing a good dense screen, street tree plantings, or shade and feature trees in large parks and gardens. Plant in a well mulched garden/site and apply a slow release, low phosphorus fertiliser in Spring if required. Prune to shape after flowering if necessary.
